Audience BAMBI for TV
Series

Which TV series deserves to win a BAMBI in 2011? It’s up to the millions of people in Germany to decide by voting on the phone or online until November 10 2011. As of now the audience can phone in or visit www.bambi.de to decide who will receive Germany’s most prestigious media prize in the category “TV Series of the Year”. There are five productions to choose from:

Gottes mächtige Dienerin (God’s Almighty Servant), ARD: The true story of a farmer’s faughter who becomes a key confindante to Pope Pius XII: Christine Neubauer as Bavarian nun Pascalina.

Hindenburg (Hindenburg), RTL: The Zeppelin catastrophe of 1937, spectacularly filmed with elaborate special effects and features stars such as Heiner Lauterbach, Christiane Paul and Max Simonischek.

Die Säulen der Erde (The Pillars of the Earth), SAT.1: The battle for the crown in 12th century England and the construction of a monumental cathedral: historical epos by Ken Follett starring Natalia Wörner and Rufus Sewell, among others.

Schicksalsjahre (The Fateful Years), ZDF: The story of a love forced apart by the Second World War. A woman who surpasses her own limits. Two decades of German history with
Maria Furtwängler and Pasquale Aleardi.

Der Mann mit dem Fagott (The Man with the Bassoon), Das Erste: A great entertainer looks back over his life: Udo Jürgens, who plays himself, and David Rott as the young Udo in a 20th century family saga.

The results will be announced live during the BAMBI Awards on November 11 from 20:15pm on ARD. More information about BAMBI is available in the press release.
