BAMBI Feeling in
Wiesbaden
Gwyneth Paltrow – the Hollywood star is the BAMBI prize-winner in the “International Film” category and will be greeting the guests in the auditorium. According to the panel of judges: “As an Oscar prize-winner Gwyneth Paltrow has been one of the Leading Ladies of Hollywood for some time now. What sets her flawless beauty with her almost impish cheerful smile apart from many a colleague of hers is her naturalness.”
Tim Bendzko – in the “Newcomer” category. The musician from Berlin managed to top the charts with his first single. According to the panel of judges: “Tim Bendzko holds a mirror up to the smartphone generation with his song ‘Nur noch kurz die Welt retten’. With an ironic double twist he caricatures the hustle and bustle of everyday life, in which there always seems to be something more urgent than what is really important to us.”
Ruth Maria Kubitschek – “Lifetime Achievement”. According to the panel of judges: “Ruth Maria Kubitschek is a true exception on German television. Seemingly playful, she manages to create something outstanding in her roles. Her success is not just down to her immense professional ability, it is also due to her inner calm, independence and strength, which she exudes and which fascinates the audience.”
Rosenstolz – “Comeback” category. Rosenstolz took time out for almost three years. Now Germany’s most successful pop duo is back. Bang on time for the band’s 20th anniversary, their album “Wir sind am Leben” shot to Number One in the charts from nowhere.
Ric O’Barry – “Our Earth”. He used to train animals, now he fights for their freedom: Ric O’Barry, erstwhile dolphin trainer on the TV series “Flipper”, threw in his job and is now committed to protecting the intelligent marine animals. The documentary “The Cove” opened the world’s eyes to the cruel slaughter of dolphins. The film won an Oscar. According to the panel of judges: “Ric O’Barry shows us the cruel truth behind Flipper’s smile. He set about protecting dolphins from mankind. O’Barry shocks, provokes and frees animals from dolphinariums, knowingly risking imprisonment.”
