BAMBI shines in
Wiesbaden
“The illumination of this sculpture symbolizes Wiesbaden’s transformation into BAMBI city”, the Minister President and Lord Mayor announced during the opening festivities. “Wiesbaden is going to be struck with BAMBI fever during the coming weeks and we are delighted to be hosting this fantastic event. This outstanding award ceremony puts the state of Hesse and its capital city in the spotlight in Germany and also in Europe, and will strengthen our significance as a media hub.”
The Hessian capital is acting as the awards venue for the second time in the BAMBI awards’ 60 year history. “BAMBI enjoys being in Wiesbaden. This is the second time we have been here since 1991. BAMBI has grown since then and it even more glamorous now”, says Burda Director Philipp Welte. The 44th BAMBI awards in 1991 took place with a smaller more intimate audience in the Kurhaus, whereas BAMBI 2001 will represent a glamorous show for the selected gala guests and attract a television audience of millions. The 63rd BAMBI awards will be broadcast live on November 10 2011 at 8:15pm by MDR TV on Das Erste (ARD).
